Calling All Parents
The School Advisory Council is a school-based group intended to represent the school, the community and those persons closest to the students. The group shares responsibility for guiding the school toward continuous improvement. The district school board is responsible, by Florida law, for establishing an advisory council for each school
in the district and shall develop procedures for the election and appointment of advisory council members. Each School Advisory Council shall include in its name the words "school advisory council." The School Advisory Council is responsible for final decision making at the school relating to the implementation of the provisions of the annual School Improvement Plan. Each School Advisory Council assists in the annual preparation and evaluation of the School Improvement Plan (SIP) and in the preparation of the school's annual budget.

Silence Hurts
In light of some of the safety concerns that have happened, we would like to reemphasize some of the programs available to the community and students to prevent violence from happening. Broward County Public Schools has a program through the Special Investigations Unit called "Silence Hurts."
The focus of the Silence Hurts programs is that students, teachers, and parents can all make a difference by letting us know when or where a problem will occur.

estore.browardschools.com in your browser to get to the website or click on the link "SSMS Pay". Right now, the only items that are allowed for parents to pay are obligations that students owe, like lost media books and lost textbooks and the yearbook. In the future, you will be able to pay for fieldtrips, textbook obligations, ID badge replacements, and more online.
At this time, cafeteria payments can not be paid on-line.
