SSMS Picture Day
SSMS picture day is Wednesday, August 27th. This is a fundraiser for the school and a great opportunity for parents to get their child's middle school picture. Please click here for packages and payment information.
SSMS Open House
SSMS will host its 6th Grade Open House on Thursday, September 4th from 6-8PM. The 7th and 8th Grade Open House will be on Thursday, September 11th from 6-8PM. We strongly encourage and look forward to all SSMS parents coming out to meet their child's teachers.

Summer Reading Challenge
The Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge is a free online program designed to motivate and excite your kids around reading books this summer. Students can log the minutes they spend reading, earn virtual rewards and prizes, and enter sweepstakes, all in an effort to set a new reading world record for summer 2014! Our goal at SSMS is to read one million minutes from May 4 thru September 5, 2014.

In light of some of the safety concerns that have happened, we would like to reemphasize some of the programs available to the community and students to prevent violence from happening. Broward County Public Schools has a program through the Special Investigations Unit called "Silence Hurts."
The focus of the Silence Hurts programs is that students, teachers, and parents can all make a difference by letting us know when or where a problem will occur.
The anonymous tip line is (754-321-0911), the Web site is (www.broward.k12.fl.us/siu/tips), E-mail address (email@example.com) and by texting 'SBBC' plus the message to CRIMES (274637). Tips are received immediately by the District's Special Investigative Unit/Professional Standards Department, staffed seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
