SSMS 6th Grade Bootcamp
On Thursday, August 7th from 9-12, all incoming 6th grade students are invited out for an informative day at their new school, Sawgrass Springs Middle. During the 6th Grade Boot Camp, students will learn more about all of the great clubs, sports, activities, and more at SSMS. Students will get an orientation to the campus, meet 6th grade teachers, staff, and fellow students. We look forward to welcoming all of the brand new Gators to Sawgrass Springs Middle!
SSMS Homeroom Handout
On Friday, August 15th, SSMS will be having its annual Homeroom Handout from 9-11AM in the SSMS Cafe. At the Homeroom Handout students will be given their 1st period teacher's name and room number and parents can find out more information about paying for school lunch, transportation, and immunizations. Entire schedules will be handed out during their 1st period on the first day of school.
SSMS Open House
SSMS will host its 6th Grade Open House on Thursday, September 4th from 6-8PM. The 7th and 8th Grade Open House will be on Thursday, September 11th from 6-8PM. We strongly encourage and look forward to all SSMS parents coming out to meet their child's teachers.
Summer Reading Challenge
The Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge is a free online program designed to motivate and excite your kids around reading books this summer. Students can log the minutes they spend reading, earn virtual rewards and prizes, and enter sweepstakes, all in an effort to set a new reading world record for summer 2014! Our goal at SSMS is to read one million minutes from May 4 thru September 5, 2014.

At this event, parents will be able to get clarification on transportation issues, join the PTA, pay for school lunches, turn in immunization forms, and register their child in school.
Summer Office Hours
The Sawgrass Springs Middle School office hours for the summer of 2014 will be Monday-Thursday from 8:00AM-3:30PM from June 9th-August 10th. Starting the week of August 8th hour office hours will be Monday-Friday from 8:30AM-4:15PM.
