Florida Standards Assessment Information
Below is the SSMS testing schedule for week 1 of the Florida Standards Assessment(FSA).
4/13- 6th Grade English Language Arts(ELA) Session 1
4/14 8th Grade Science
4/15-6th Grade ELA Session 2
4/16-17- 7th Grade English Language Arts Sessions 1 and 2
*Online testing will begin 4/14. Headphones are necessary. SSMS can provide headphones to all students, but it is recommended that each child bring their own.
Please make sure that your child eats a healthy dinner and breakfast and gets a good night's sleep.
Our children will be taking a new standardized test this year that replaces the FCAT called the Florida Standards Assessment(FSA). This test aims at determining your child’s academic ability level. To learn more about the testing, there are links below to assist parents understand the new assessment resources for all of the different standardized tests that the students will be taking while in middle school.

8th Grade Field Trip
This year Sawgrass Springs Middle School will have its 8th Grade end of year trip on Friday, May 29, 2015. We are going to have a great time and celebrate at Islands of Adventure.

As part of our Wheelabrator Environmental Symposium preparations and City of Coral Springs initiatives to promote being environmentally conscious our SSMS club members have constructed a survey to collect data for analysis and incorporation into our research project. End of Course Exams

In light of some of the safety concerns that have happened, we would like to reemphasize some of the programs available to the community and students to prevent violence from happening. Broward County Public Schools has a program through the Special Investigations Unit called "Silence Hurts."
The focus of the Silence Hurts programs is that students, teachers, and parents can all make a difference by letting us know when or where a problem will occur.
